1 week until Outreach...

hello all.
sorry it has been a while since i have updated you on whats happened here.
since that last time i updated we've have a few more speakers come around to our DTS's, and have had some exciting adventures. the week after Penni Patu, we had a speaker Jim Walker from Pittsburg. He was great, very animated and interactive. He taught on the idea of Grace, and Fear of the Lord. Last week we had our last "corporate week" with all 5 DTS's together. The speakers were Pieter McCarthy, and Joseph Iacova from South Africa; both very funny and entertaining. They taught on the whole idea of Missions and going out to the nations and bringing the gospel. It was an amazing week focused on highlighting the different nations represented here at this base, and the nations of the world. It was such an amazing and passionate time.

I've been doing some last minute "tourist-y" things as well on the weekends. Last weekend my DTS drove to the Southern most point of the USA and there was some cliff jumping opportunities there and we jumped off of a 45ft cliff in the rain :) it was LOTS of fun. Also we drove around to the east side of the island as well and ate dinner at a pancake house as well as stopping off at a beach that had black sand. It was sweetttt.
This past weekend on Saturday we went to the beach again, taking 30 min to hike to a beach called Makalewena, the most beautiful beach on the island (that I've been to) we stayed there all day and got to see lots of sea turtles and whales (it has been breeching season the last few weeks so they are all over the place.)
On Sunday a few of us made our way to the Hilton/Marriott Resort area that is free access to the public and there we were at a BEAUTIFUL resort just chilling by the pool that had waterfalls in it, and then I got to see DOLPHINS for the first time !!! they had a bunch of dolphins in this salt water lagoon (along with lots of fish and sea turtles) that were trained and were doing tons of tricks, but we were so close we could almost touch them :) !!! they are so beautiful.

Monday: our DTS left at 9am to go to the most northern part of the island for a one night camping trip altogether. It's a 2 hr drive from the base and once we got there we divided up into our outreach teams and built our "living space" out of rope and tarps. Ours turned our really well because we have some really outdoorsy guys on our team that were really efficient at it. The location we were at was one valley over from where Jurrasic Park was filmed, so it was pretty out of the way. We were right at the edge of the cliff where the Lighthouse to the island was. So we ate lunch, played a bunch of team building games in the afternoon and for dinner we grilled chicken and steak and potatoes on a grill over the fire. After that we had smores and played some campfire games and then went to bed.
Tuesday: we woke up after a hard nightsleep on the ground full of cockroaches, beetles, and centipedes, and it was raining. We ate breakfast built a fire and had more smores and played some more games and left. We JUST got back about an hour ago.

Things are wrapping up here this week,, we just have one more week to go until we leave for outreach. Its going to be a hard week so please pray because its time to say goodbye to everyone, and plus we'll all be busy prepping for outreach and packing up and cleaning, so its going to be very busy.

Thank you to everyone who has been following my journey in DTS, I will try to update 2 more times before I leave. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS !!
Xoxoxoxoxoxo God Bless
