My First Day in Kona

I have arrived safely in Hawaii !! Yesterday was my first day on base and it was our orientation day. We were welcomed by at Hula Dance performed by hula girls, and then a traditional "Hong Yi" whichis how they greet people. They by put one hand on their shoulder and touch nose to nose and forehead to forehead. We all had to do it to each other!! I guess Im already stepping out of my comfort zone.

Later that day we had several activities. We trucked all around downtown and saw the ENORMOUS waves crashing right in front of all the trinket-y stores and restaraunts. After that was dinner (which we eat under tents/huts). That night, our class had a bonfire which we spent worshipping, had smores, and shared testimonies, etc.

As for my accomodations, my HUGE bedroom window looks RIGHT over the ocean and the sunsets right outside my window. Its beautiful.

Praises/Thanks :
- for everyone's prayer and support !!
- Safe arrival
- Great connections with other students here
- Amazing creation that God is allowing me to experience

Please pray for:
- Finances, as I am still in need
- My outreach destination of three choices which I will explain soon
